AOC Digital Portrait
Gold Addy Award in Illustration 2021
AOC is an advocate for people. She fights for justice and education. A speech of hers in 2020 on her experience as a woman in political leadership inspired this digital portraiture. Her office is known for having sticky-notes posted outside her door full of encouragement and thank-you notes. This portrait takes that concept and places an illustration of her into the sticky-notes. These notes are handwritten by friends and supporters who were prompted to write what they would tell her if they had the chance to leave a sticky-note outside her door.
